Our Values

Our core value is organisational integrity. This is the principle that an entity’s actions must reflect the claims and promises it makes, and, if its actions do not, it should explicitly and publicly disavow the claim or promise affected.1 Following this principle, if there has been an error (or an improvement!), you can be confident that you will learn about it because we will tell you of our own volition. We respect the power of the scientific method and our colleagues in the scientific community who sincerely strive to apply it in their work. We also appreciate that there are many world views with a diversity of experience and viewpoints. We believe that some of the best research is done by diverse teams, which we encourage by practicing active inclusivity — working with people with a variety of research skill levels and disciplinary interests regardless of which part of the planet they come from or how they self identify. We engage with our clients and collaborators in an earnest way to understand the interests that drive their research and any constraints or concerns they have in relation to achieving their aims. This allows us to be responsive to them in a considerate, accurate, and timely manner. We work to promote transparency as a way of increasing the reliability of scientific research, as well as to easily allow others to improve upon our work. We do this by clearly communicating our research protocols, our analysis pipelines, and potentially useful findings in the open where others can find and use them. We support and encourage others to do the same.
